• Djokovic wins 4-6, 6-3, 6-3• Serb will face world No1 Rafael Nadal in final
Defending champion Novak Djokovic rallied after a rain delay to beat Roger Federer 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the Rome Masters final. The loss extends Federer's title drought to seven months.
It is the second consecutive Masters Series final on clay for Djokovic, after the Serb lost to Rafael Nadal in Monte Carlo two weeks ago. Djokovic will now get the chance for immediate revenge following Nadal's 6-3, 6-3 win over Chile's Fernando Gonzalez in the other semi-final.
Djokovic must retain his title in Rome or he will lose his world No3 ranking to Andy Murray just three weeks before the French Open begins.
